Q: What is the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code, and does it affect our community?
A: Colorado’s Wildfire Resiliency Code (WUI Code) applies in many Eagle and Pitkin County areas. It applies when a re-roof replaces 25% or more of a roof. Depending on your zone, it can require Class A materials, ember-resistant vents, and non-combustible gutters. Umbrella primarily installs Class A roofing systems when required by code.

A: National averages do not hold up well at 7,000 to 9,000+ feet. UV exposure and freeze-thaw cycles can shorten roof life meaningfully compared to lower elevations. We provide documented, honest remaining-life assessments your board can use to inform reserve planning, though the reserve study itself should come from a qualified reserve specialist.
